HYDRO-SURVEYOR

Video Demonstration

Hydro-Surveyor is a remotely controlled, powered micro vessel for the deployment of ADCP.

Hydro-Surveyor is:

  • Light, simple and compact
    • carried by a single person
    • operated with one hand
    • stowable in rear seat of a compact sedan
  • Reliable
    • driveline components tested with 8 hp input at 25000rpm without failure
    • Marine fittings and fasteners used throughout
  • Cost effective
    • single person operation means operating savings in the order of $US31000 can be achieved in the first year of use. A 10 fold return on investment.
  • The main use of the HydroSurveyor is for discharge measurements. However it is easily adapted to other uses to be used in powered or towed form
  • The powered boat allows a single operator to measure and collect river discharge data and to make a transfer, in real time, to an onshore profiler offering labour savings in the order of $US31000 in the first year of operation over a 2-person team.
  • A “GPS receiver” is available for use with GPS equipped vessels. This device is connected to the profilers GPS system to allow the powered hull to follow a course of 16 waypoints. A manual override is available at all times.
  • The towed boat comes complete with a unique constant tension towing harness to allow the boat to be towed from any height and a constant tension maintained on all four tow points for maximum hull stability
  • All fittings are hard anodised or marine grade stainless steel composite or high impact fibre impregnated nylon.
